The Sarai Programme is pleased to present a panel discussion on the occasion of the much-anticipated release of two major works of scholarship on Indian cinema. Ashish Rajadhyaksha and S.V. Srinivas will introduce their books, after which a panel discussion will address issues posed by their works for research in the field. Do join us for a significant event that will be of great interest to those working in the field of cultural history, film, media and visual culture studies, sociology and political studies.

Ashish Rajadhyaksha is at the Centre for the Study of Culture & Society. His publications include Encyclopaedia of Indian Cinema (1999) and Ritwik Ghatak: A Return to the Epic (1983).
S.V. Srinivas is at the Centre for the Study of Culture and Society and coordinator of the Culture: Industries and Diversity in Asia (CIDASIA) research programme. He has been a leading resource person for the study of Telugu cinema, and his current interests include research into Asian film circuits and exhibition practices.
