Multimedia Workshop @Sarai
Venue: Seminar Room, CSDS
Date: 11th October, 2008
Time: 11:00 am to 7:00 pm

Dear Readers,

This multimedia workshop is conducted jointly by the G.I.S.S. committee, the Indian Linux Users' Group, Delhi (ILUG-D), Freed.in, and Sarai, CSDS. Given the current state of FLOSS multimedia applications, and the number of people involved in it and actually working with them, the aim here is to organise an informal gathering, and a discussion group. However, people are welcome to make presentations on any FLOSS tools and techniques that they have worked on.

Workshop Schedule:
The event will start at 11:00 am and may continue till 6:00/7:00 pm, depending upon the level of interest.

Some ideas from the G.I.S.S. committee folk to be discussed:
•    free technologies for free media ( giss )
•    real-time media processing ( pure data )
•    computer vision ( opencv )

Some potential topics:
•    Edit, Produce and Publish Your Personal TV Programs on the Internet, with 100% FOSS.
•    How To Forge A Career in Digital Creativity with FOSS: Graphic Design, New Media, Multimedia.
•    Digital Photography Techniques using FOSS Software.
•    Do-It-Yourself iPod-wannabe [self-assembled hard-disk in a multimedia USB casing].

Hope you will make yourself available for the event.

Best,
