Independent Fellowships The Independent Research Fellowships Programme at Sarai has given grants to researchers and practitioners working in a diversity of locations and forms. Student Stipendship The Student Stipendship Programme is aimed at building a network of young researchers, with an interest in the urban condition. Students are provided financial support and academic resources to carry out research, present their work and interact with the wider academic community. Translation Fellowships Our ongoing translation programme of key texts from English to Hindi will continue as before. This activity is yielding a steady stream of significant texts that considerably enrich the domain of discourse and debate in the contemporary Hindi public sphere. This year we want to enlarge the ambit of our translation activity at Sarai to include the process of translation to Bengali and Urdu. To diversify and deepen a production of translation at Sarai, we will launch a new programme of Translation Fellowships in the coming phase. more... FLOSS Fellowships The Sarai_CSDS Independent FLOSS Fellowships enable programmers to research and develop different kinds of open source software-based applications. Typically, these are projects that would not usually find support in formal, institutional or market-driven settings, either because of the intent/ nature of the goal or because of the 'open' nature of the knowledge thus produced/created.more... Residencies Every year we host a small number of residencies at Sarai. Residents are mainly New Media artists from South Asia as well as from Australia, Europe and the US.
