John, new media artist and PhD candidate from Stanford University, was in Residence at Sarai for three months. John works on the aesthetic, theoretic and critical possibilities of Augmented Reality [AR]. He used his time in India to interact extensively with scholars and new media practitioners to think through terms of theorizing new media in alternate development settings. He also made two public presentations of his work at Sarai. John has developed several ideas for several site-specific installations based on his research in New Delhi.
