Common Room & Bandung Center for New Media, Bandung, Indonesia

Common Room and the Bandung Center for New Media are closely allied initiatives in Bandung, Indonesia to create an interdisciplinary and collaborative context for new media creativity in social contexts. Sarai CSDS, Common Room and Bandung Center for New Media share many common concerns and envisage close collaboration in many aspects of the interface between media practices and social-cultural contexts. Personel from Sarai CSDS, Common Room and Bandung Center for New Media personnel have visited each others spaces and have had a series of fruitful dialogues.

m_Cult is one of Finland's leading initiatives in research and experimental practice in New Media. Sarai CSDS and n_Cult have had fruitful exchanges on several issues and have collaborated on drafting the Helsinki Agenda - a Strategy Document on International development of new media culture policy. Australian Network for Art and Technology, ANAT

ANAT is Australia's peak network and advocacy body for media artists working in screen, sound, installation, performance, literary and networked arenas; creating opportunities for connection, collaboration, innovation, research and development both nationally and internationally. Sarai CSDS personnel and ANAT have collaborated on masterclasses and lecture events in Australia.

Asialink, Melbourne

The Asialink Centre is a non-academic department of The University of Melbourne supported by the Myer Foundation and the University of Melbourne. The Asialink Centre promotes public understanding between cultural and academic initiatives between Asia and Australia. Sarai CSDS has occasionally hosted Artists, New Media Practitioners and Cultural Practitioners on Asialink Residencies to India.

Metariclagem is a network and initiative located in Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil dedicated to research, experimentation and creative practices with free and open source software in social contexts in Brazil. Sarai and Metariclagem have had a series of fruitful dialogues and exchanges, involving residencies, seminars, workshops, publication and translation.

Descentro is an offshoot that has emerged after the collaboration between Sarai, Waag and members of Metareciclagem took deeper root and reflected on the need for an embedded situation that is responsive to local contexts. Descentro will work on locations distributed troughout Brazil. Organization will be carried out mostly on-line. There will also be use of temporary spaces. DesCentro will organize weekly virtual meetings, and at least two face-to-face encounters during the year.

Khoj, Delhi

Khoj is an artist run workshop space and international residency based in Delhi. Sarai CSDS and Khoj have collaborated on film screenings and South Asian Artists Residencies. People from Sarai have participated in discussions and events on contemporary art at Khoj.
