Ankur Society for Alternatives in Education
Ankur Society for Alternatives in Education is a Delhi based NGO active in the field of pedagogy and social engagement for more than twenty years. The Ankur network of non-formal teaching centres and libraries for women and young people in many working-class and deprived neighbourhoods in Delhi.
Sarai-CSDS and Ankur have collaborated closely for the past six years on the Cybermohalla Project. Four Cybermohalla labs have been opened in the past six years in communities where Ankur has an established presence, and in the premises of Ankur centres. Cybermohalla practitioners have participated actively in many experimental pedagogy initiatives undertaken by Ankur, in Delhi and elsewhere, training teachers and community workers in different aspects of portable and accessible forms of creative media practice.
