Ordinary life is a site that is pregnant with possibilities. Women (young and old) in different contexts, slowly and firmly self learns to empower themselves in handling ordinary, everyday situations of inequality. This gradual process of self-understanding is active in the localities among many people. Ankur attempts to build spaces and enhance these possibilities of self-growth through practices that affirms, builds a critical conceptual lexicon and creatively engage with the directions of transformations.

Young Women’s Centre building peer networks and giving voice	We create sites and contexts to strengthen the peer networks among women to help the process of building mutual recognition, dignity and assertion. This we think helps in laying the ground for transformative agency among the participants and radiates outwards to social relations around them. This space helps build a culture of sharing and listening that helps build concepts for critical and emphatic account of the self, of contexts, of traditions and to interrogate forms of power, specifically gender based power relations.
Cybermohalla locality labs for experimentation, research and play	Ankur’s efforts are in activating the generative potential in spaces in localities – lanes, walls, parks and markets. By creating an environment of participation, documentation and creative interventions through interesting mobile and circulating forms, Ankur returns the generative energy in a transformed manner to the locality itself. In these ways the locality becomes a space of generative energies as well as has the opportunity to reflect on ways in which this is activated. This is a collaborative project of Ankur and Sarai.
Generative Hubs contemplative, cultural spaces for the community	Ankur seeks to create a spaces for reflection, listening and reading – as well as a permanent, ongoing and available archive of the localities. These spaces hold an active public as well as an environment of sharing and inscribing stories, and the excavation of written and oral histories of the locality. The spaces open themselves out to an invited public for meetings and conversations around diverse written forms such as diaries, letters and newspaper clippings from the localities as well as of print cultures that include technologies and modes of circulation of information in the localities.
