Reviews

Unprecedented, new way of writing language and writing about the city.
- Krishna Sobti, at a public event to award the writers of Bahurupiya Shehr, Delhi

It allows us to see the city differently, to witness the chimera of hopes, expectations and fears... Older forms of writings are not adequate to the telling required by these writers. So they go ahead and invent their own forms, a mixture of reportage, memoir and fragmentary reflection; a spectrum of voices which are both fresh and pungent.
- Mahmood Farooqui, Mid Day, Bombay

Their prose, saturated with the freshness of the everyday and the relentless making of lives in the city, is sheer poetry. They are the generation-next of writing in Hindi language.
- Sudhish Pachauri, Dainik Hindustan, Delhi/Patna/Lucknow/Ranchi

The strength of the writing in this book is the precision and calibration of language. There is no emotional fervour at any point, yet every sentence hits its mark.

By the dent of its creativity and ethics, Bahurupiya Shehr makes visible the invisible, makes audible the as yet unheard, unsettling a heavy vaccum that had made home in Hindi literature.
- Rohini Agarwal, Anyatha, Delhi-Minnesota

It's not only how experiences are recounted, but also which experiences are chosen to be recounted which shows a maturity of penmanship of the writers of this book.
- Sanjeev Kumar, Hans, Delhi
