Early IndLinux efforts were concentrated on building a knowledge base for Indic localization and building support at the base level - input (keyboard) , display (fonts), locale etc. After achieving basic Hindi language support, the effort progressed to bring support for more languages and also incubating new language teams, the fruits of which resulted in having ten language teams by 2004.
