Songs of Innocence: Daniel Lercher
Acoustic notes from Rewalsar
The work is a soundscape recording made during the evening practices of buddhist novices in front of a monastery in Northern India, summer 07. The acoustic atmosphere is very unique and rich of sonic events from all directions. Additionally to the small monks you can hear a Russian child playing with his mother on the big square in front of the monastery. in another corner there’s an older monk praying with his prayer wheel and the sound of a distant bell seems to underlay the whole situation..
Daniel Lercher is a sound artist currently residing in Vienna.
