Media Forms Sarai's Media Lab has been working and experimenting to creatively engage with many of the questions, thoughts and ideas raised by the broad scope of Sarai's research. Cybermohalla Mohalla in Hindi and Urdu means neighbourhood. Sarai+Ankur's Cybermohalla project takes on the meaning of the word mohalla, its sense of alleys and corners, its sense of relatedness and concreteness, as a means for talking about one’s ‘place’ in the city, and in cyberspace. Translation Translation @ sarai is a collaborative practice to create a dialogue across languages and their specific public domains. There is a general paucity of reflective material and basic resources in Hindi on themes that concern us. While we aim to create these resources, we also work with the belief that English publics would be well advised to keep checking out Indian language productions. Indic Localization Localization (l10n) is process of customizing software to different cultural locales, covering aspects of script , language usage, graphical notations and translations.
