Do cities have limits or borders? The endless expansion of cities, suggest an explosive and implosive growth, with inner city areas, peripheries and suburb being redrawn rapidly. The new value of land, law and property makes living in the city difficult for many. The process of endless expansion comes at a great social and imaginative cost – to the idea of urban life and tolerance of difference. This thematic looks at the consequences of acceleration and cities, utopias and dystopias, inequalities and forms of living under speed.
