Independent Fellowship Workshop, August 2005
Each year the Independet fellows come back to Sarai to make final presentations of their work at a public workshop hosted at Sarai. This section contains a detailed report of the 2005 presentations and post-presentation discussions. 2005 projects ranged from a resurrection of Dastangoyee, an oral Urdu stroytelling form, to an analysis of the musical tradtitions of the Indian People's Theater Association, to a socail history of mess-houses in colonial Calcutta, popular crime pulp fiction in Bengal, to a study of the space of the shrine as a traditional healing systm in conflict-torn Kashmir.
